New Zealand wine reflects the country’s individuality. Marlborough initially gained attention for its Sauvignon Blanc acidity, but since the ’80s, the whole country has progressed. Today, top grape producers are spread across different regions. Like many Kiwi things, these vineyards are both welcoming and lovely to visit.

The seaside city of Napier was rebuilt int he art deco style after an earthquake in the 1930s. Today Hawke’s Bay is the highest exporter of wine outside of Marlborough. The region is well known for its farm-to-table cuisine and restaurants.
The capitol of New Zealand is a foody town through and through, with some of the country’s top chefs serving a range of tastes and styles. An hour’s drive from the CBD is the Wairarapa region and the small hamlet of Martinborough- built around the area’s wine houses.
Located at the top of the South Island Nelson does not have the name recognition of nearby Marlborough, but is a great location for shopping, accessing the Abel Tasman National Park and visiting local wineries.
Vineyards as far as the eye can see, Marlborough put New Zealand wine on the world map and today is a powerhouse for exporting some of the best Sav Blanc in the world.
History and gorgeous vistas are readily found throughout the “Winterless North” and a visit here should include a trip to the boutique wineries set in breathtaking landscapes.
