Manea- Footprints of Kupe Opens in the Northland

Newly opened last week, Manea ‘Footprints of Kupe’ is open for visitors to join a journey of discovery through the eyes of New Zealand’s first discoverer, Kupe, to Aotearoa and Hokianga. This is New Zealand’s first story, and one of national significance!

Enjoy an authentic and interactive experience hosted and delivered by Kupe’s descendantswhich connects you to his epic arrival, his journeys across Aotearoa, his departure and the stories of repopulation. The landscapes directly surrounding the Heritage and Cultural Centre have not changed much since his time and provide the backdrop for an experience of a lifetime.

Be prepared for a tour with a difference, engage in a welcome ceremony, marvel at an interactive 4D theatre and movie experience and connect deeper with the area and its storiescourtesy of the technology information stations. Welcome to “the story that started it all’.

Great for those interested to learn more about the history of New Zealand, its culture and people!
